Vintage & Estate Watches
A vintage watch is four things at once — case, dial, movement and bracelet — and any one of them may have been serviced, refinished or replaced during its life. We describe all four as we find them. A refinished dial is called a refinished dial, a later bracelet is called a later bracelet, and a serviced movement is never presented as untouched. That honesty is the whole basis of buying an estate watch from a distance.

The category covers dress watches in gold from the 1930s to the 1970s, cocktail and bracelet watches for the wrist, signed house pieces, mid-century automatics and estate watches that are more recent but previously owned. Case metal and standard come from the hallmark; reference and serial numbers are recorded where they are legible.
Every watch is cross-checked against the period the model was actually produced in. When the paperwork, the reference and the movement do not agree, the watch does not go online. Box and papers are listed only when they are physically present. Each watch ships free and fully insured to the US with import duties included, with 30 days to return it, and you can inspect the dial and case yourself on a private video viewing first.

What we record on every watch
Reference and serial numbers where legible, case marks, dial condition including refinishing, movement type and its last service where known, crystal, crown and bracelet or strap. Anything we cannot establish is left as not specified.
Servicing, accuracy and water resistance
Vintage watches are not water resistant, whatever the case back says, and their accuracy is period accuracy. Where a watch has been serviced we say when and by whom if we know; where it has not, we say that too.

Free insured shipping to the US with import duties already in the price, 30 days to return with free insured return shipping, and a private video viewing where we run the watch on camera.
Frequently asked questions
- Are your vintage watches serviced before sale?
- Where a watch needs work to run reliably, it is serviced before listing and the product page says so. Where it has not been serviced, we state that instead of implying it has. We never claim a service history we cannot document.
- Do vintage watches come with box and papers?
- Only when they physically exist and came to us with the watch. If the listing does not mention box and papers, they are not included. We never source replacement paperwork.
- Can I wear a vintage watch every day?
- Many are perfectly wearable, but treat them as period objects: keep them dry, avoid knocks, and have the movement serviced every few years. The condition report describes wear to the case, dial and crystal so you can judge.
- Can I see the piece before I buy it?
- Book a private video viewing. One of our specialists takes the exact piece into daylight on camera, turns it, shows you the hallmark and the back of the setting, and answers your questions live in your own time zone.
- Do you ship to the US with duties included?
- Yes. Shipping from the Netherlands to any US address is free, fully insured and tracked, and import duties and taxes are already included in the price you see. Nothing extra is collected on delivery.
