Information we use and why
We collect only the information needed to provide the storefront and the service you request. The categories, purposes and legal bases are set out below.
- Contact and request information, including your name, email address, telephone number, messages, appointment preferences, sourcing criteria, saved searches, offers and product interests. We use it to answer you and take steps you request before a possible purchase. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and our legitimate interest in customer service.
- Order information, including cart contents, delivery and billing details, order reference, payment status, fulfillment status, returns and warranty communications. We use it to create and perform the sale, meet accounting and tax duties, and prevent fraud. The legal bases are performance of a contract, legal obligations and legitimate security interests.
- Marketing choices and communication history, including newsletter signups and new arrival alerts. We use this information with your consent where consent is required. You can withdraw that choice at any time.
- Browser and device information, including security data derived from your IP address, request times, rate limit records, page and product interactions, device details and error information. We use it to operate, secure and diagnose the site. The legal bases are our legitimate interests in a secure service and consent for optional analytics where required.
- Cart, saved pieces, consent and pseudonymous hold information stored in your browser. We use it to provide features you request and remember your choices.
Who receives information
We disclose information only when needed for the service. Shopify receives checkout, payment, tax and order information as the checkout and payment service. Delivery providers receive the details needed to deliver and return a parcel. Our email service receives contact details and message content needed to send operational messages. Hosting, database and error monitoring providers process technical data needed to run and protect the site. Professional advisers may receive information where needed for accounting, legal or compliance work.
Payment card details are collected by the payment service and do not touch our systems. [IN TE VULLEN: complete processor list, each provider's role, processing location and privacy notice].
Sale, sharing and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information. The current site does not share personal information for behavioral advertising across different services or for targeted advertising. Optional audience measurement is not used to build advertising profiles. Service providers receive information only to perform services for us.
California and Colorado require qualifying businesses to honor recognized universal opt-out signals when personal information is sold or shared for targeted advertising. Because the current site does neither, Global Privacy Control is not applicable to our present processing. If that practice changes, we will update this policy and implement the required signal handling before the change begins.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the request, transaction, security purpose and legal recordkeeping duty. [IN TE VULLEN: retention period or deletion rule for inquiries, sourcing requests, unsuccessful viewings, offers and saved searches]. [IN TE VULLEN: retention period for newsletter records and suppression choices]. [IN TE VULLEN: retention period for orders, returns, warranty and tax records]. [IN TE VULLEN: retention period for security, rate limit and error monitoring records]. [IN TE VULLEN: retention period for temporary reservations and abandoned carts].
US state privacy rights
California residents may have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold, request deletion or correction, opt out of sale or sharing, and receive equal service and pricing when exercising a right. Because we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is no such sale or sharing to opt out of today. You may use an authorized agent where California law allows it.
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah, and residents of other states with an applicable privacy law, may have rights to access, correct or delete information, receive a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale or certain profiling. The exact rights and exceptions depend on your state and whether the law applies to our processing.
We may need information to verify your identity and an authorized agent's authority. [IN TE VULLEN: identity and authorized agent verification procedure]. [IN TE VULLEN: appeal process and response channel where a state law requires one].
European privacy rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority. [IN TE VULLEN: competent supervisory authority and complaint details].
International transfers
Boost E-tail B.V. is in the Netherlands. Information submitted by a US customer is therefore transferred to and processed in the Netherlands. Dutch and European privacy rules may differ from those in your state, and lawful government access rules may also differ. Online service providers may process information in other countries. [IN TE VULLEN: verified processing countries and transfer safeguards used by each provider].
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
